Chee Cheong Fun
We had breakfast at Palm Garden Chinese Restaurant located on 1st floor of Sandakan Hotel the next morning after arrival. We ordered quite a lot of dim sums as both my cousins like dim sums. As it was a weekday, the place was very quiet and only two tables including ours were occupied. Though the food was cheaper, the portion of food there was small, unlike the ones that we had at Celestial Court, Sheraton Imperial KL which was huge.
My boy attacked the yam puff and the dim sum wrapped with tofu (bean curd) skin and had half a bowl of porridge while cousin brother whacked few baskets of dim sums. Mei Mei (Ian's cousin sister) did not eat much as she was racing against time playing the PSP before his brother finished eating and took over. I think it's time I have to hide it before they turn cuckoos.
The food was okay but nothing to shout about and the bill came to RM90, not cheap considering the quality of food there. The texture of "siew mai" was not right, hard and rough and tasted bland. The food worth mentioning was the century egg and pork porridge which was smooth and not so thick and its yam puff, soft and fluffy.
