Ian with his new found friendsSandakan has seen a spur growth of cafes sprouting around Bandar Indah since the development took place. I had a meetup with my "old friends" at Jesselton Coffee located in Bandar Indah last night. They are really old buddies with some I have known for as long as 30 years while the rest more than 20 years. We tagged along our kids and that made the meeting up a bit chaotic with kids running and chasing around the cafe.:)
The concept of Jesselton Coffee are similar to that of StarBucks and Coffee Bean with cosy ambience, comfortable couches and dimmer lighting. That makes it a perfect meeting place for friends and families.
Though I have weakness for coffee, I did not order any this time as the last thing I wanted while enjoying my holiday was having sleepless nights! I have problems getting to sleep if coffee was consumed after 8pm. I opted for orange juice instead.
Spaghetti of different sauce varieties are in the menu but it wasn't available when I placed my order. I then ordered chicken sandwich, orange juice and a slice of blueberry cheesecake for Ian. The chicken sandwich was a let down as it was made of a flimsy slice of pathetic looking chicken meat, lettuce and tomatoes with two lightly toasted white bread.
My friend who took us there ordered Ice Blended Green Tea which was highly recommended and Chocolate Moist cake. while my other friends ordered Cheesy Cheese cake, highly recommended and smoothies. My friend told me that though the cakes are labelled as homemade but it was outsourced from a supplier.
It also has free wifi access and background jazz music and that makes our old friends gathering a pleasant one.
