Wrapping Up Year 1..
My boy is slowly getting back his exam papers. The first batch of exam papers returned were BM and Chinese (Penulisan), Computer, Maths & Science (In English). These papers will not be included in the overall performance and only gradings of A,B,C and so on will appear in the report card. Any marks above 80 will be graded as A. He did pretty well in these papers scoring 95% and above except Chinese Penulisan which he got 90%. The Chinese paper appeared to be harder this time with more "fill in your own words" kind of questions. I am so proud that he managed to get all his strokes right this time, no missing strokes here and there compared to last time. Way to go, boy!
Nevertheless, I nearly suffered heart attack when he got back his Science (English) paper two days ago. He was quick to tell me that he had left the last page unanswered as he didn't realize the page existed! As a result, he lost 4 marks from the page or he would have scored 100%. *slap forehead* I told him his wish of getting an aquarium seems flying out the window. We had a deal beforehand, mainly as a form of encouragement for him to check and double check his work. He has to score 100% in 2 papers to get the reward, that's it. Guess how he responded to my negative remark, "Never mind, mom. I think I can get 100% in my Moral paper. ^_^
True to his word, he got back his Moral and Maths (Chinese) papers yesterday. He scored full mark in his Moral paper but then, made lots of careless mistakes in his Maths paper this time, down from 98% to 91%. I then teased him, "How now? Only 1 paper 100%, you can't get your reward, you know? He then said, Never mind, still got few papers (4 actually) not returned back. Maybe got 1 more 100% leh. Hmm.. We'll see. Anyway, I like your positive way of thinking, boy... Hahaha... That's my funny boy..

Ian is a bright child. His scoring in most papers are very high. Surely you are a proud mom.
good job to your smart boy. his result is very very good :)
Well done Ian!!
He is a very confident and smart boy. No worries for you.
Shenny's mommy, Barb, Annie, Michelle,
According to my boy, most of his classmates also scored quite well. :)
I can feel your tension. We hope the kid can do the best, at the same time, we scare we have given the kid too much pressure. Ian is going good. No need to score 100%, as above 80% is also A, but if he can score 100%, even better. hehehe, right or not?
Aiyor...no need for 100 lah! So good already. Can get him the aquarium... What's most important is he has worked hard, tried his best and done well. Too much pressure may bring adverse effects...and likewise, promising to give rewards. Next time, exam - no rewards means no need to study hard anymore lah!
stp: Cikgu, thanks for your genuine comment. Really appreciated. At times, we really need to get a knock on the head to wake us up and not get eaten up by the "kiasuness" within us.
Congratulation, those are superb result... really couldn't ask for more already!^-^
Well done, clever Ian!
Yes...but do make sure that he promises to change the water and clean the aquarium every week or you will give it away. Good opportunity to teach responsibility... Good luck! LOL!!!
Well done, Ian! I'm sure he'll get his aquarium. ;)
