Of Foo Chow and Traditional Mooncakes

Packets of Foo Chow Mooncakes

Closer look of the Foo Chow mooncakes

Someone brought us 2 packets of Foo Chow mooncakes all the way from Yong Peng, Johor.  I tried 2 pieces and it was simply delicious.  This is the first time I have this biscuit-like mooncakes and I personally prefer them to the traditional ones which I find too sweet to my palate.

Traditional Mooncakes

This kind lady also brought us some guavas and my brother in-law too, gave me a box of traditional mooncakes and that leaves me no reason to utilise my US Coupons to grab some online.

i think the guava looks more appetizing than foochow mooncakes. I'm off mooncakes tis year.. dunno why.. no craving or confused by the too many variety around.. and also those jelly mooncakes.. what a price to pay.

Wow! You can get them over there now, eh? But they're not the same. They look real fine - ours here more coarse...and they're round. Ours are square, not like the moon at all. LOL!!!

I still prefer traditional mooncake with lotus and egg yolk filling. Simply the best. But once in a while trying new taste is good too
